Dr Marius van Aswegen is a registered Industrial Psychologist, and has more than 25
years’ experience in providing professional consulting services in the following areas:
Strategic team building facilitation and conflict resolution
Organisational diagnostics and climate surveys
Host-country cross-cultural team facilitation, coaching and conflict resolution
International executive assignee/expatriate selection, preparation and coaching
Leadership competence assessment, coaching and competency model development

Marius is contracted with International SOS, iNHEMACO and Worldwide Travel Medical Consultants
(WTMC) in providing psychological counseling support to international assignees and their
families relating to trauma situations.
Marius travels extensively across Africa, and is actively involved with clients operating in
countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Guinea, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo,
Tanzania, Mozambique, Cameroon, Kenya, Angola, and Botswana. He also works with clients
operating in China, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia. He actively makes use of a network
of specialists in providing an integrated solution to clients in ensuring the optimal
utilisation of their human resources in achieving their strategic business objectives.
Marius has been an occasional lecturer at University of Pretoria, presenting lectures to Masters
and Honours degree students on the management of diversity, as well as the effective management
of expatriates in their adjustment and performance while on international assignment in other
countries. He has developed a training programme on international mobility management. This
program is registered and is presented in conjunction with the South African Board of People
Practice (SABPP). Marius is also an occasional external examiner for master’s degree theses
produced by students at the University of South Africa (UNISA).
Marius is a member of the following institutions: Health Professions Council of South Africa
(registered as an Industrial Psychologist), South African Reward Association (SARA),
International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM), South African Society of Travel Medicine
(SASTM), Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa (SIOPSA).
He is also a member of the Steering Council for the Psychological Health Interest Group of the
International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM).
